2018 Ford Expedition should be one of those utility full-size vehicles which will fulfill the market of large SUV – 3rd Row Seating for 8 Passengers with an interesting design, combined with low weight. On the other hand, the market for full-size vehicles has many models to compete with, like Toyota Sequoia, Chevrolet Suburban, Jeep Wagoner and Nissan Armada. Ford had to offer something which will attract spoiled customers in this field, and that will be light weight. Thanks to the new aluminum platform, seen on other models in this class, new Expedition will be much lighter which allowed the manufacturer to expand the height and length.
As we mentioned, the first impression about 2018 Ford Expedition should be massiveness and largeness, supported by longer wheelbase, more inches in length and heights with modern details and big wheels (from 17 to 22 inches). Wide mesh grille has incorporated large LED lights, with two trapezoidal fog lights below them. The rear end is much simpler, with only a few curved lines and dents, wide rear lights and flat truck door. Extended truck with dark glasses provides the feeling of massiveness.
The inside of 2018 Ford Expedition is modern designed, wide cabin with upgraded infotainment and entertainment system and comfort second row. That includes rich entertainment system for the passengers in the second row and many devices for stable and safe driving. Not only passengers in the second row have a lot of space for legs, the complete seats can be downed to provide more cargo space. Speaking about the cargo space, it is larger than on previous models, the truck has many additions to protect stuff from rolling down from the SUV during driving.
Although many numbers in term of fuel economy and speed are not available yet, we can confirm that the engine built in 2018 Ford Expedition will be 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine used in 2018 F-150, 2019 Ford Transit, 2018 Ford Flex, with much better performances and higher strength. There are high chances that manufacturer will connect it with 10-speed automatic transmission operated via a modern rotary knob.
2018 Ford Expedition
As the 2018 Ford Expedition is a newly redesigned pick-up truck, there should be represented a whole new line of trucks for years to come. Together with EcoSport, which will be offered in the US only, we should expect a big come back of Bronco from the same manufacturer. However, Expedition will be represented in Dallas and after that on Auto Shows in the US by the end of the year. The base price should be around $50,000.
