It has been officially confirmed that the new Ford Escape is going to hit the market soon as a 2019 model. Although the fans have recently seen its 2018 update, it seems that this model tends to stand next to its competition and show once again why it has been the Ford’s second best-selling vehicle, right after the F-150.
When it comes to exterior design of the 2019 Ford Escape, this model is going to hit the market as a redesigned crossover which seems larger and more boosted than its predecessor. However, the new Escape is going to keep the exact same dimensions. The crossover will use fresh sheet metal on its body and its hood will be made of lightweight aluminum. The first thing that you will probably notice is its trapezoidal grille with energetic shutters. The LED headlights will also be redesigned. Looking at the side profile, this model will get power-adjustable and more wind-resistant mirrors. It is also expected to get a new set of wheels, probably ranging from 18 to 19 inches, depending on the trim you choose. In the back part of the vehicle, the fans can find restyled LED taillights and a power tailgate. The new Escape will probably offer three additional body paints as well.
The interior of the 2019 Ford Escape will reveal a modern and quieter cabin thanks to an acoustic glass that will reduce the outside noise and vibrations. The cabin is also expected to provide more space and comfort for its passengers as well as cargo. The driver will get a redesigned leather-wrapped steering wheel and an 8.0-inch touch-screen with the latest SYNC 3 infotainment system. Numerous next-generation features such as USB ports, Apple Car Play and Android Auto will be provided. You will also be satisfied with safety systems and driver assist features that the new Escape will offer. Some of them include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, park assist and automatic high beams.
When it comes to engine that the 2019 Ford Escape will be using under its hood, three options have been considered as possible. The first one, found in a base S model, comes with a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four that is expected to deliver 168 horsepower. The other one includes a 1.5-liter four-cylinder Eco Boost that produces 178 horsepower. The top end models will get a 2.0-liter Eco Boost that hits up to 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, used in 2019 Ford Edge too. The engine of the new Escape will be mated to a standard six-speed automatic transmission while the fans will be able to choose between front and four-wheel drive.
