Although it was recently updated in 2016, the luxurious crossover coming from the 2019 Lincoln MKX is apparently on its way to hit the showrooms as a 2019 Lincoln Nautilus model. According to the LA Show our team has seen, Lincoln has been preparing some serious updates for its 2019 MKX – 2019 Lincoln Nautilus.
As we have already mentioned, the spy photos could only reveal the camouflaged version of the new 2019 MKX being tested. The heavy camouflage particularly covered the front end of the vehicle, but based on those photos and information we have got, it can already be predicted what you should expect in terms of exterior design. Many would compare it to the Edge model in terms of styling, especially because these two models would probably share their platforms. So, the wheelbase will most likely remain the same compared to the current model. However, other exterior features will certainly undergo some distinctive changes and enhancements. For instance, in the front fascia we have noticed that the new MKX will abandon its current two-piece grille and replace it by a new single-piece as it has been the case on the new Continental model. When it comes to innovations, the 2019 MKX will get the new set of LED headlights in two rows. The headlights will be slim and a bit swept-back. The new Lincoln will acquire a bit sportier look thanks to some features such as new set of adaptive dampers and a possible air-ride system. These will also help the car to adjust to various road conditions and improve its handling. The new MKX will also come with a better fuel-economy. In the back part of the car, you will find a new set of redesigned taillights that will be using the latest LED technology.
The interior of the 2019 Lincoln MKX – new 2019 Lincoln Nautilus has also been compared to the 2019 Edge model and its cabin. There will not be some distinctive changes compared to the current model, but Lincoln will definitely continue the use of high-quality materials and upgrade its technology. It will provide new instrument cluster and a large touch-screen display with the latest infotainment and entertainment system and numerous apps. Also, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, park assist, lane-keeping assist and pedestrian detection are just some of the safety systems and driver assist features that will be included.
When it comes to engine that the 2019 Lincoln MKX will be hiding under its hood, this model will probably abandon the 3.7-liter naturally aspirated V6. Instead, the basic model could get a smaller 2.3-liter Eco Boost V6 that delivers more than 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. In higher trims you will probably find a 2.7-liter V6. It has also been said that the current six-speed automatic transmission will probably be replaced by the new nine-speed.
2019 Lincoln Nautilus Release Date and Price
The 2019 Lincoln MKX should probably be expected to make its debut in early 2018, at the Detroit Auto Show. The price should not increase much compared to the current Premier trim that starts around $38,000.
