2021 Ford Escape comes as redesigned model after two decades of existence. Not only that it will fully be redesigned, but the model will completely change the appearance. However, this model has been changed for years and every new version did not look like the previous one. If we take in mind that this model has its European brother called Ford Kuga, we conclude how serious and heavy task designers had in the past two decades to improve it from time to time.
- The model runs on four optional engines, with two hybrid ones.
- The design of the car is fully redesigned.
- There are no significant changes in the cabin.
- The final price is not known yet.
There are no doubts, 2021 Ford Escape is longer, wider and lowered model than last year model, has modernized and redesigned rear end and numerous of details that we were not able to see on last year model. The prettiest on the car is the rear end, so the model looks like the best models in the class. If you looking for the similarities with the Toyota RAV4 there are no that much as before, so the model became a unique and attractive small SUV.
The cabin in 2021 Ford Escape should be also elegant and luxury as the outside of the car, offering great upgrades in design and maybe the most elegant cabin space in this field. The manufacturer has not said much about the technology inside, but we expect usual upgrades of the current equipment. The cabin is maybe less changed in this car from the last season.
2021 Ford Escape Engine
It seems that no matter how design is changed, 2021 Ford Escape will have the same engines that they use for a long time. They should use the same 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged model with 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. As one of the great performances of this engine the manufacturer points the option of deactivation of the two cylinders, so the engine runs on the rest two. It maximizes fuel economy, not on the expense of the strength. The next option is the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder model with 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. If you are more like for hybrid engine, there will be a simple but strong 2.5-liter four-cylinder version with 198 horsepower. This is the only version that runs with the continuously variable transmission, while the previous two have 8-speed automatic one. Along with that comes plug-in hybrid version, unfortunately, not finished yet, that should produce 209 horsepower. It will be able to drive 30 miles on one charge.
2021 Ford Escape Release Date and Price
Even though the manufacturer has prepared 2021 Ford Escape for the 2020 year, some versions could be on the market before that. They said that petrol versions could be offered at the end of this year. The price is not finalized, but the base model could cost $20,000, which with upgrades could increase up to $30,000.
